Photograph caption dated September 17, 1956 reads, "Temple Beth Hillel, Jewish reform synagogue in North Hollywood, retains dome over center of religious services as it was in Biblical days. Difference is dome and walls are brick, entrance is of glass. Dome is largest concrete dome in Southern California, 62 feet in diameter. Sanctuary and social hall can accommodate 1100 when partition between is removed. Center was designed by Matthew Lapota of Los Angeles."
