Description
An interview with Albino Freitas, Jr., who worked for Southern Pacific in Sacramento, California from 1940-1980. Freitas worked in the Sacramento Shops as a Machinist's Helper throughout his employment in the Shops. Freitas started in the Track (Frog) Shop. Later he moved to the Erecting Shop and, when diesels replaced steam engines, he became Lead Workman on the Firing Line.
