Description
Dr. Plötze mit Patienten (1. Leipziger Missionsarzt). ("Dr Plötze with patients (1st Leipzig medical missionary)."). Photograph of Africans wearing traditional cloths, a European man and an African man wearing European clothes. They are standing or sitting on the veranda or the stairs of a house.
Hermann Plötze (1857-1909), from Saxony, served the Leipzig Mission as a doctor. At first he worked for the Chagga mission in Mamba from 1902 to 1904. Afterwards he was stationed in Machame for three years. In 1907 he left the missionary service, but he stayed in East Africa as a farmer until his death.
