Photograph caption dated September 2, 1959 reads "When Fire Direction Center plots artillery hits, it immediately transmits corrective range and elevation figures to batteries on line. Here, Capt. Irving S. Altman, of Canoga Park, on field phone at right, receives FDC information as Lt. John A.
