Image of an American soldier from the Spanish American-War standing looking through a pair of binoculars in an advertisement for Scribner's magazine October 1898 issue.
"Christy '98"--text, artist's signature on stone, bottom left of image. "Richard Harding Davis tells in the October Scribner's how San Juan Hill was captured. His story of the battle is fully illustrated. Captain Arthur H. Lee the British Military Attache, gives a thrilling account of the Regulars at El Caney. Illustrated with photographs by the author. Surrender of Santiago an illustrated article by J.F.J. Archibald, a correspondent present at the event. Many other interesting features."--text, center right of image.
