Title supplied by cataloger. Photograph dated October 14, 1948 shows members of the Los Angeles Fire Department Demolition Squad as they prepare the dynamite used to demolish four, 60-foot, concrete silos on the Adohr Milk Farms located at 18000 Ventura Boulevard. The property was sold by owner, Merritt H. Adamson to builders who planned to divide the land into parcels for construction of low-cost housing for veterans. The four silos that had stood as landmarks in the San Fernando Valley for 31 years, were to be demolished to make room for the housing project. Shown, left to right, C. C. Rosenberg, Charles Dow, and Robert Owens.; See images #00113599 through #00113604 for all photos in this series.
