Description
I. J. Harvey, the first mayor of Salinas, built his home in 1874 on Monterey Street in Salinas. It was moved in 1939 to Romie Lane in Salinas. Currently the house is at Station Place in Salinas. More information can be found at the website for The First Mayor's house. These photos were taken for the Salinas Public Library. Billy Emery was a photographer with a studio in Salinas. Later he was a counselor with the Department of Corrections Soledad Training Facility.
