Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
Children and personalities have come together for the annual January fundraiser, called the "March of Dimes," for the National Foundation for Infantile Paralysis. On stage here are Eddie Cantor, "Gorgeous" George Zaharias, a.k.a. Theodore Vetoyanis, a professional wrestler and the husband of athlete Babe Didrikson. Eddie Cantor, seen in other shots of this event, is recognized as the person who coined the term "March of Dimes," for the event. In 1979, the organization, which was formed in 1938, changed its name to the March of Dimes.
