Description
Photograph of the Leland Stanford Memorial Church at Stanford University, before the earthquake in April of 1906, ca.1900. A tile pathway in the foreground on the left leads to the archways of the church. Above the archways are the words "Memorial Church, erected to the glory of God and in loving memory of my husband Leland Stanford". Above, the wall presents an intricate painting of a biblical scene and a cross sits on top of the roof. Behind the front wall, the steeple of the church stands with a clock at center and a large cross on the tip. Trees in the foreground obstruct the view of the right side of the church.
