Description
View of the Saint Lorenzo shrine at the Marquez Family Cemetery, located on San Lorenzo Street in Santa Monica Canyon, part of the Rancho Boca de Santa Monica. The shrine was erected by the Marquez family many generations ago. From 1848 to 1916, Marquez family members, including Micaela de Reyes and Pascual Marquez, son of Francisco R. Marquez, were buried in the cemetery. Descendants of the family continue to oversee the cemetery, a registered cultural-historic landmark. July 21, 1937.
