Description
View of the Science and Technology Reading Room at Central Library. The library's circulation is the largest in the west and third largest in the United States, 8,414,009 books having been circulated last year. The first library was founded in 1872 and occupied two rooms in the old Downey block. The Central Library, with its 49 branches, represents an investment of more that $9,000,000. Dated June 23, 1930.
