Description
Grinding of corn--used heavily in the Navajo Indian diet--becomes a ceremonial occasion, as two Navajo girls reenact the age-old scene at the South East Indian Center in Huntington Park on May 21, 1974, helped by feather dancers (second row) and singers (third row), accompanying the occasion with the gourd.
