Photograph of an aerial view of Santa Monica looking north from the palisades, ca.1930. The steep, rocky cliffs of Palisades Park stretch from the foreground at right into the distance at center. There are trees along the tops of the bluffs and bushes along the bases. Pacific Coast Highway runs parallel to the cliffs at center and is bordered by an assortment of buildings, including a bath house, at left. There are two piers or breakwaters jutting out into the water, one at left and the other at center. In between is a sandy beach. There are several cars parked along the side of the road in the foreground at left. A tall mountain range is visible through the haze in the background.
