A man on a horse races by with a tree branch in his hand in the left foreground, three other horsemen in his stead. To their right, two miners try to restrain a third who is in his pajamas and appears to be drunk. Two men doze, leaning on the outside wall of a shack, while a third sits and looks at them. Further right, two men are in the process of rag-bathing parts of their body. Equipment is scattered across the bottom of the frame. To the left, more festivities can be seen under a canopy.
