Patrick Burns, 7, was killed when struck by an automobile driven by Jack A. Risley, 26, in a crosswalk at Ninth and Valencia streets. Witnesses said the car threw the boy 159 feet. Risley was booked on suspicion of manslaughter. Photograph dated November 14, 1947.
