Description
This is a group portrait ordered by Edgar Gordon. Per the notes on the order and also the little banner in the photograph, this is a KPAS group. This is order number 1225. According to local radio historian and broadcaster Cam Currier, "KPAS signed on in 1941 with studios in the old Huntington Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena as a 'beautiful music' station. In 1945 it became KXLA with a country/western format. That lasted until September, 1959 when it was sold to Jack Kent Cooke and went to top 40 KRLA, where I worked in the late '60's through early '70's." Because this photo was taken in 1945, we suspect this is a "farewell photo" of the KPAS staff and their families
