Description
Miller Avenue was a winding dirt road in 1900. The house on the left near railroad track belonged to Jacob Gardner (The Maples). The train is the North Pacific Coast Mill Valley spur. There are two versions of the photograph, v1 and v2. Handwritten on back of photograph: "Property of Karin A. Connelly, Cascade Drive, Mill Valley, California. Looking toward Mill Valley from sight of Tamalpais High School at time of installaion of the 'Third Rail System.' Note condition of Miller Avenue."
