Description
Shown is a promotional flyer for the Marina Inn, created in circa 1970. The 100-room inn was opened in 1963 soon after Thomas Raley, an entrepreneur most closely associated with his self-titled chain of supermarkets throughout Northern California, took on ownership of Marina Inn, Inc. The inn would remain in operation until 1986. The flyer boasts the inn's riverfront location as well as its close proximity to downtown Sacramento and Old Sacramento. The back of the flyer provides a map of the inn's surrounding area. The map also shows possible routes to various locations like Sacramento's International Airport via the then-newly built Interstate 5 and to Reno, Placerville, or San Francisco via Interstate 80. The front of the flyer shows an artist's rendition of the inn.
