Description
Dr. Regan Gurung’s (University of Wisconsin, Green Bay) presentation is about the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). He discusses what SoTL is, how it can optimize teaching and enhance student learning and how it is different from scholarly teaching. Dr. Gurung discusses how social psychology, its methodologies, theories, and major findings can aid the art and craft of teaching and correspondingly influence student learning. He demonstrates why both scholarly teaching and SoTL are valuable, and discusses how the subfield of social psychology (broadly defined) makes important contributions to both.
