Description
As viewed from the south, in circa 1930, is the recently-completed Sacramento water filtration plant. In the foreground is the sedimentation basin while, to the left, is the pumping station. It was concluded, in late 1926, by both the city and Harry Jenks of Iowa State College, that the facility was responsible for saving an estimated 26 persons, annually, from typhoid, saving the city roughly 260,000 dollars. Coagulation tanks sit in the foreground.
