Photograph of a Pico Heights electric car, the first in Los Angeles, ca.1887. Sixteen people stand in or around the car. Three people, one of whom is the engineer, attend the operator's car in front, while the rest congregate around the passenger car trailing it to the left. A sign spans the top of the cable car reading: "Plaza, Pico Street, Pico Heights".
