Description
View is looking southwest. Car Shop 3 is to right, running parallel to transfer table, with Pattern Shop adjacent. The American Railway Union called for a national boycott of the use of Pullman sleeping cars June 27, 1894. Strikers took control of stations and railway yards in many California cities and greatly disrupted service. Federal troops were called up in early July to restore the flow of goods and mail. The strike ended July 20.
