Description
Two copies. On original print, the note reads, "Dr. Lee de Forest, Inventor of the three-electrode (radio) tube. Taken in Los Angeles June 9, 1953 two months before his 80th birthday." The note on the copy reads, "Dr. Lee DeForest holding DeForest 'Responder' used at St. Louis Worlds Fair, 1904. This Responder was located by G. S. Corpe in unclaimed Freight Office in Phoenix, Ariz., where it had been for 40 Yrs." (G.S. Corpe, W6LM)
