Description
See L.A. Chamber Bulletin December 2, 1929 p1, and December 23, 1929 p3.
View 2: The L.A. Chamber of Commerce initiated "Christmas Outdoors", activities that would draw attention to Southern California's balmy Christmas climate. Numerous children, all dressed in different costumes, can be seen sitting along the right side of this float, waving at the photographer. The shape of the float appears to be an extremely large shoe or possibly a submarine (?). Silver tinsel dangles from the make shift palm fronds visible at the rear, and silver foil covers not only the sides but everything displayed on the float as well. Photo dated: December 20, 1929.
