One of two sons of comedic actor, Joe E. Brown, Don Evan (December 25, 1916 - October 8, 1942) went on to become a Captain in the United States Army Air Force, but was killed during pilot training.
Photograph caption dated April 27, 1944 reads, "Joe E. Brown, film comedian, is shown looking at a picture of his son, Capt. Don E. Brown, whose memory will be honored Sunday in a ceremony at U. C. L. A. Captain Brown was killed in October, 1942, in a plane crash."
