Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on August 17, 1965 states "Not every moment was filled with violence and bullets in the riot area of Los Angeles. Corporal Philip Miller of 9530 Beacon Avenue, Orangevale, talks with a child on Central Avenue. This thoroughfare was one of the hardest hit during the rioting. Miller is from Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 184th Infantry."
