Photograph caption dated March 4, 1955 reads "Wrecks left to rot. Abandoned cars, dangerous and unsightly, litter vacant lot between Roscoe boulevard and southern Pacific tracks, back of San Fernando Valley Airport. Lot contains six wrecks and parts of several others, stripped by owners and left in violation of law."
