Photograph was edited for publication purposes In 1937, actor Ray Corrigan purchased real estate in Simi Valley and developed it as a movie location for use in film production. Corriganville became 'Hopetown' when it was purchased by Bob Hope in 1965. Photograph caption dated May 8, 1965 reads, "George L'Odense of Saugus, wagon master of Alaskan Camper Club, briefs group of campers on plans for camping trip in June during a meeting at Hopetown Movie Ranch, formerly known for many years as Corriganville."
