Description
Photograph caption dated June 16, 1961 reads "The day started with toast and a dish of strawberries. It ended with a swim. But in the meantime, 17-year-old David Harper, president of his Granada Hills High School graduating class, had his problems. First, the tie. For some reason the knot didn't look the way the tie knot of a graduating senior should look. Too big. Next time too small. All day he had been working on his welcome speech given during the graduation ceremony. He wondered if it sounded all right. Was it too long? Not long enough? Cap and gown attired, center photo, it went off without a hitch. The reward for his efforts? The last photo speaks for itself." See images 00155542 through 00155544 for all photos in this series.
