Photograph caption dated August 13, 1959 reads, "Old hose tower for Burbank's City Hall, built in 1916, disappears bite by bite as clam-shell crane cuts it down, In foreground, Jerry Gould, superintendent in charge of wrecking for Atlas Company, Burbank, watches over wrecking process which makes way for new City Hall Annex to be built on site. Burbank Police Department's Traffic Division and Detective Bureau were last to occupy building.
