A woman examines historic photos, documents and artifacts (silouette of statuette in foregound) on display in the ranch house at Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades. The Rogers family owned a 186-acre ranch in Pacific Palisades, which became their place of relaxation. At Will Rogers' untimely death in 1935, the ranch consisted of a 31-room ranch house, a stable, corrals, riding ring, roping arena, polo field, golf course, and hiking trails. When his widow, Betty, died in 1944, the property became a state park.
