Note translation: Cf. D-30.09.034. (PST). - A similar photograph, taken on the same occasion, is picture 12 in the Album "Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer", Neuchatel 1895. The caption there reads: "12. Girls' Boarding School in Aburi. Aburi possesses an institute in which 70-80 girls are instructed and brought up. Many woman teachers and wives of our Christians have received their education here already." - The dating has been based on what we know of Miss Kies' time in Aburi plus lthe assumption that Ramseyer took the photograph. (RI).
