Description
1999-0208. View of the "Noyo", a two-masted steam schooner; two life boats on deck; men in bow and stern of the boat; San Diego in the distance. "From National City Dock showing San Diego" -- handwritten on verso. Noyo cooperatively owned by John S. Kimball and the Union Lumber Company, running a regular circuit hauling redwood lumber from Fort Bragg to Southern California ports and freight northward. This particular vessel was built in San Francisco in 1887 and wrecked and abandoned off Pt. Arena in February 1918 -- source of information Fort Bragg-Mendocino Coast Historical Society.
