Description: Caption from September 6, 1977 Sacramento Bee reads "Replica of Spirit of St. Louis on display in Sacramento. At right is view of cockpit." "Spirit of St. Louis 50th anniversary, visit to Sacramento. Replica of the original Ryan aircrafft piloted by Charles Lindberg from New York to Paris, built by the Experimental Aircraft Association to fly the 50th anniversary flight around the U.S. The replica aircraft is being piloted by Verne Jobst, a United Airlines captain and president of the International Aerobatics Club of America."
