Description
Monrovia's first newspaper, the Planet. Vol. I. No. 1, Nov. 20, 1886. Monrovia was 6 months old. Located on the north side of east Lemon, east of the Keefer building between Myrtle and Ivy. L to R: J.W. Harvey, Editor in doorway. Riding on the donkey is Eva Harvey (child of JW) and her mother Elma Boweman Harvey. Standing near left corner of the building appears to be Stephen Bowerman, Elma's father. The Bowerman's were invited by W.N. Monrovia to relocate from Duarte to Monrovia.
