Photograph of a panoramic view of Los Angeles showing I.W. Hellman's residence, ca.1887. The corner of Main Street and Fourth Street is visible in the foreground, as seen from the roof of the Westminster Hotel across the street. Trees crowd the fenced-in yard which almost entirely obscures the house itself. A few horse-drawn vehicles move down the street at left which is lined with utility poles and lines. In the background, two or three church spires are visible. The area is principally residential.
