Description
Levy Home, former Bacon Home. According to a later owner, Mrs. Esther Painter, this home went through the earthquake of 1906. She says that a family named Levy lived in this house, but she does not know the dates. Mr. Levy's wife was a Christian Science Reader, and put out a sign in front of the house whenever she held a reading service. When Mrs. Painter moved there, the address was 1137 Berry Rd. Mountain View, California. This was before the incorporation of Los Altos (where it now would stand). Mrs Painter says that she understands that the home started out as a barn, and the people lived in it as it was gradually built into a home (info received 3/31/1986).
