Description
Photograph of a portrait of Adelaida Johnson Mellus, wife of Francis Mellus, [s.d.]. Mrs. Mellus is shown here in bust wearing a lacy short-sleeved calico dress that exposes her shoulders. She is facing straight ahead and appears slightly cross-eyed. Her hair, which she wears up, is dark. A pearl necklace hangs around her throat. She appears to be no older than her mid twenties in the portrait. She later became the wife of David Alexander. The portrait is encircled by an oval frame.
