Photograph of a birdseye view of Los Angeles looking northeast from the Third Street Hill, ca.1918. The Young Women's Christian Association Building is in the foreground at center. It is a large, light-colored building with several small rectangular windows on the side and two structures on the roof. There are also two men on the roof. A tall rectangular tower with a pyramidal roof is at right, and the Hall of Records is being built near a clock tower in the distance at left. The Merchants Trust Company Building is at center and the Savings Exchange Bank is in the background at center. There are several other tall buildings in view, and smoke is spewing from a factory at center in the background.
