Photograph caption dated September 10, 1960 reads, "'This is a good place to settle this election--right here in the Vice President's own back yard.'" Sen. Kennedy declared that the biggest issue in the 1960 election is "whether the world will move toward freedom or toward slavery" due to the lack of American leadership. His speech lasted 27 minutes and was interrupted by applause 40 times.
