Description
Photograph of ruins at the Belgian City of Ypres during World War I, ca.1915. The tall brick ruins appear to be those of a cathedral because of the few remaining archways. The bricks that are still standing are doing so in several tall, thin sections. The section of wall at center is so badly damaged that the bricks are not recognizable as such. The ground around the ruins is covered in brick and wood debris.
