Description
From a Nov. 11, 1971 Burbank Daily Review Article: "High school seniors who would like to ride atop Burbank's float at the Rose Parade on New Year's day are urged to attend a preliminary judged of contestants at Central Library. The Burbank Tournament of Roses Association has selected as its entry a float decorated to the theme "I Love You For All Seasons." The float will carry two couples, one wearing fall and winter costumes, and the other spring and summer costumes. An alternate couple will be selected from the contestants as a backup in case one of the two couples is unable to participate in the Rose Parade. Contestants must be a member of the senior class at any one of the four high school in Burbank. Judging will be based on a persons' availability, personal appearance and interest in the float building effort." Slide dated December 1971.
