Photograph. "Tribute to woman director's thrift -- Park Lane Apartments at corner of New Hampshire and Fourth Streets, just sold to Lois Weber. Building, sold through Clinch and Turtle, contains 65 modern apartments." -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated 19 October 1929. "The Park Lane Apartment Hotel, New Hampshire at 4th. Steel construction, 65 apartments [....] Recently bought [...] motion picture [...] sum of $6[....] Miss Weber [...] of years [...] director [....] Her[...] Clinch & Turtle, Miss Rose Murrin manager." -- handwritten on verso (partially obscured). Streetscape. Horizontal photography. The building was opened in 1927 designed by Leland A. Bryant. This photograph was taken in 1929, the year when Lois Weber purchased the property. While in her earlier years she was an actress, Ms. Weber is best remembered as a film director.
