Description
Marie Filippi is the daughter of Roque Moraes, one of the original Portuguese dairy farmers from the Azores who started and ran the numerous dairies in and around Mill Valley. The Moraes dairy farm was on the area now known as Enchanted Knolls. In this oral history, Marie recounts the development of the dairies in southern Marin and her father's involvement. Marie also provides insight into the Portuguese community culture in Southern Marin and her involvement in the Irmandade do Divino Espírito Santo e Santíssima Trindade (IDESST) in Sausalito. Editor's note: The recording for this oral history is not available.
