Description
The USS Great Northern was a 8,387 ton cargo ship commissioned on November 1 1917 and decommissioned on March 4, 1922, after which she was renamed Columbia. She made two trips to Vladivostok, one in late 1919 and the other in early 1920 to pick up about 3,000 soldiers for their return to the United States.
