Description
On back: "A portion of the Porter Home on Saint James street between Second and Third taken when the trees in Saint James Park were quite small. Between the palm trees may be seen the dome of the former Court House (most likely County Court House, see Frederick Hall's, History of San Jose, page 301). Early picture of Saint James Park are scarce. The smallness of the trees indicates the age of the picture. (Property of James A. Clayton & Co.)"
