2008-1782 PHOTO: LOS ANGELES COUNTY: MT. DISAPPOINTMENT View 1 (2008-1782). "The Switzer-Land Chapel from the brink of the Falls". Shows bridge at bottom of ravine. Side of ravine rises on left to chapel built of rock -- view 2 (2008-1783). "Yacca and slabsides cabin, Switzer-Land". Plant, with cabin behind, man standing by yucca. Forested mountain in background. Switzer's Camp located on Mount Disappointment, near Mt. Lowe in the San Gabriel Mountains above Pasadena in Los Angeles National Forest. First built in 1884 by Perry Switzer, destroyed by fire in 1896. Taken over in 1916 by Lloyd B. Austin who built the hostelry named Camp Losadena. Later renamed Switzer-Land.
