Photograph of a view of Broadway, looking north from Seventh Street, ca.1917. The are many tall commercial buildings on the visible blocks. Notable buildings include the Bullocks department store building (left), the Bank of Italy (right), the California Furniture Co. (center) and the Walter P. Story/Mullen & Bluett Clothing Co. building (center left). Early-model cars are parked along the curb or moving down the street. Streetcars carrying passengers are moving on its rails down the street. Pedestrians are can be seen traveling on the sidewalks or crossing the streets.
Legible signs include: "Bank of Italy, resources over $40,000,000", "S. Broadway", "W.
