Photograph was edited for publication purposes Cliffie Stone was born Clifford Gilpin Snyder on March 1, 1917. He was an American country singer, musician, record producer, music publisher, and radio and TV personality. Stone was pivotal in the development of California's thriving country music scene after World War II during a career that lasted six decades. He died on January 16, 1998. Photograph caption dated December 22, 1955 reads "Cliffie Stone, center, Western television entertainer, will entertain Holiday Hop teenage dance Valley Youth Foundation will stage Wednesday in Van Nuys.
