Description
Aubrey Wardman came to Whittier in 1903 to set up and manage the Whittier Home Telephone & Telegraph Company. Orrin Gallup came later to serve as wire chief. By 1929 Aubrey Wardman was president and Orrin Gallup was vice president of the Home Company. They discuss the history of telephone service in Whittier and the growth of the area. They also discuss the oil industry, including the Santa Fe Springs oil boom beginning in 1921. Interviewer is LoVerne Morris.
